๐ฃ๏ธ Make UGC-style ads with AI actors
UGC-style ads โ a real-looking person talking casually about a product โ outperform polished brand ads on social almost every time. AI actor platforms (Arcads and similar) now generate that footage from a script. The catch: the script is 90% of the result. Here's the full setup.
How the pipeline works
- Claude writes the script โ conversational, hook-first, one selling point.
- An AI actor platform performs it โ you pick the actor, paste the script, get video.
- You test several actor/script combos and let the ad platform pick the winner.
The script prompt that makes it work
You write UGC video ad scripts. Product: [what it is, who it's for, the #1 real benefit]. Write 3 scripts, 30-40 seconds spoken, each with a different angle:
1. "I was skeptical" โ doubt to convert
2. "The problem nobody talks about" โ pain point first
3. "I found this thing" โ casual discovery
Rules: written the way people actually talk โ contractions, false starts allowed, no marketing words ("game-changer," "obsessed" are banned). First line must work with sound off as a caption. One product mention by name, one soft CTA at the end.
Making it feel real (the details that matter)
- Read it aloud once. Anywhere you stumble, the AI actor will too. Fix the sentence.
- Match actor to audience. Pick someone who looks like your actual customer, not a model.
- Imperfection sells. A script that's slightly rambly outperforms one that's tight. Ask Claude: "make it 10% messier, like a first take."
The disclosure question (read this part)
Don't pass AI actors off as real customers. A synthetic person giving a fake first-person testimonial ("I bought this and it changed my life") crosses into deceptive-advertising territory โ the FTC has been explicit about fake testimonials. Safe uses: presenter-style delivery of true product claims, clearly stylized ads, or scripts voicing your real customers' reviews with attribution. When in doubt, disclose AI use in the caption. Trust is worth more than one ad's performance.
Test in threes: 3 scripts ร 2 actors = 6 ads. Run them at low budget for a week, kill the bottom four, scale the top one. That's the whole system โ the iteration loop from the ad copy guide applies directly.
