🏗️ Rebuild any website you love (the right way)

"I want a site like that one" is how most great websites start. There's a right way to act on it: study the site you admire, extract the decisions that make it work, and build your own original version with Claude. Structure is learnable; content and design assets are theirs. Here's the clean workflow.

The line, stated plainly

Fair game: layout patterns, page structure, navigation logic, how sections flow, what makes the UX feel good. These are ideas — everyone learns them from everyone.
Off limits: their text, images, logo, code, and anything brand-distinctive. Copying those is infringement, and a clone fools nobody anyway — least of all Google.

Step 1: The structural teardown

I admire this website: [URL or describe it in detail]. Do a structural teardown, not a content copy: 1) the page-by-page architecture and why it's ordered that way, 2) the visual hierarchy — what your eye hits first, second, third and how they control it, 3) the navigation and conversion path, 4) typography and spacing patterns (described generically), 5) the three decisions doing the most work. Output as a pattern document with zero of their actual wording.

Step 2: Translate the patterns to YOUR business

Using that pattern document, design MY site: [business, audience, goal, brand colors]. Apply the structural patterns but fill every section with my reality — my services, my proof, my town, my voice [paste your content or build it with the website copy guide]. Where their pattern doesn't fit my business, say so and propose what does.

Step 3: Build it with Claude

Hand the translated plan to Claude Code or an AI builder section by section, art-directing as you go (the direction system). Because the plan is already yours, everything generated is yours.

Why this beats cloning (practically, not just legally)

The site you admire works because its structure fits their business. The teardown-translate step is where you find out which patterns transfer and which don't — skip it and you get a suit tailored for someone else. This site you're reading was built exactly this way: structure studied, every word and pixel original.
