๐ The AI marketing playbook for local businesses
Local marketing isn't about going viral โ it's about being the business people think of first in your town. This is a weekly AI-assisted routine that takes about 90 minutes total.
The weekly routine
Monday โ 20 min: reviews
Reply to every new review, good or bad. AI drafts, you approve:
Draft replies to these customer reviews for my [type] business. Positive ones: warm, specific, 2-3 sentences, no copy-paste feel. Negative ones: calm, take responsibility where fair, move the conversation offline with a phone number. Never argue. Reviews: [paste]
Wednesday โ 30 min: content
One helpful post and one human post (behind the scenes, staff, local shout-out). Pull from your content engine if you have one โ that guide is here.
Friday โ 20 min: the follow-up pass
Write a short, friendly follow-up message for customers who [got a quote but didn't book / haven't visited in 6+ months]. No pressure, one genuine reason to come back (new stock, seasonal service, a tip). Under 60 words, sounds like a neighbor, not a company.
Monthly โ 20 min: one offer
Help me design one simple monthly offer for [business]. Constraints: must not devalue my main service, easy to explain in one sentence, trackable (code word or coupon). Give me 5 options with the one-sentence pitch for each.
Where the leads actually come from
For most local businesses it's, in order: word of mouth, Google (search + Maps), then social. That's why reviews come first in this routine โ they power all three. Your Google Business Profile deserves its own hour: we wrote a full guide on it.
Track one number: "How did you hear about us?" Ask every new customer, tally it monthly, and double down on whatever's winning.
