🦾 Build your own Jarvis with Claude

A "Jarvis" isn't one magic AI — it's one assistant that knows your world and sits at the center of your tools. With Claude, the recipe is: standing context + connected tools + saved routines. Here's the practical build, from minimum to full toolkit.

Level 1: The brain (30 minutes)

Create a Claude Project called "HQ" and load its instructions with your world:

You are my personal operations assistant. About me: [work, business, family logistics that matter, town]. My priorities right now: [list]. My communication style: [direct, brief]. Standing rules: keep answers short unless I ask for depth; when I dump a mess of thoughts, organize first and advise second; flag anything I seem to be forgetting; ask before assuming. My recurring needs: [weekly plan, drafting replies, decisions].

This alone — an assistant that never needs re-briefing — is 60% of the Jarvis feeling.

Level 2: The hands (connect your tools)

Claude connects to real tools via MCP connectors — calendar, email, files, and hundreds more. Add them one at a time from trusted sources, and start read-only where offered: let it see your calendar before it can create events. Each connector turns "draft me an email" into "check my week and draft the reply accordingly."

Level 3: The routines

Jarvis's value is rhythm, not party tricks. Save these as scheduled tasks or morning habits:

The safety architecture (non-negotiable)

Approval gates on everything that acts. Your assistant drafts, you send. It proposes calendar changes, you accept. Never hand any AI unsupervised send/delete/pay powers — the convenience isn't worth one wrong email to a client. Full pattern in the first-agent guide.
Feed it after every miss. When it gets something wrong, add one line to the Project instructions ("my daughter's games are never movable"). Three months of small corrections builds an assistant that feels psychic.
